Once a dredge gets to a certain age it is time for a facelift, I hope to look as good when I’m 77! Boards on the face of the dredge which have been ruined by moisture are being removed. They will be replaced with new ones and the whole face will get a coat of protective whitewash to ensure the longevity of the repair.
This project is part of an ongoing process of restoration which over the course of the next few years will restore the other three sides as well. Not to worry, the dredge is still open to visitors during construction and there are guided tours on the weekends!
Stay tuned for more updates on the restoration!
